Hey lovelies,

I’m a bit late with this post seeing I will be posting my June wrap up in a little over a week, but to be honest this was the first moment I had the time to actually sit down and write this post. It’s been a hectic couple of weeks with work and adopting a new kitten. Introducing my two ladies to the little one has been a challenge but now after nearly a week we are slowly getting here.
Anyway, let’s get on to my May wrap up, I ended up reading 18 books, 4 of those were audiobooks, 4 were a reread and the other 11 were either ebooks or physical ones. I enjoyed all of them so much!

The Big Book of Serial Killers by Jack Rosewood1. The first book that I ended up reading in May was The Big Book of Serial Killers which is basically an encyclopedia on every notorious serial killer that has been out there, although there are a lot of them from the US, this book being by an American author and all! I ended up giving this book Star_rating_3_of_5 . I love reading about things like this, to find out why a person does what he has done or what goes on in a person’s mind. Although this book didn’t really go into the depth of these cases. Just on some of the bigger ones, like Ted Bundy.

2. The second book that I read in May was the newest release by Abbi Glines, Best I’ve Best I've Ever Had by Abbi GlinesEver Had, which is part of her crossover series between the Rosemary Beach and the Sea Breeze series. I am loving these books. To get to know the children of the characters that I’ve loved so much. This book was no different. Eli was my favourite, I devoured this book and ended up giving it Star_rating_4_of_5.

Lucky Daddy by R.S. Lively3. What I love most about books is when I receive an email with book deals and mostly on books that you can get for free. The next three books I bought in a set of 5, but I read them separately so I could rate them separately as well! The first one is Lucky Daddy, written by R.S. Lively. This set was the first I’ve ever read by her but I wasn’t disappointed. I ended up giving Lucky Daddy a Star_rating_3_of_5 rating.

4. Not Over You was the second book in the box set, a second chance romance but also Not Over You by R.S. Livelywith children involved. Somehow I have a guilty pleasure for the “oh no, my one night stand got me pregnant” trope. This was another Star_rating_3_of_5 rating for me. It was cute, but I’ve read better ones.

The Protector by R.S. Lively5. The third book in the set I read is; The Protector. The heroine in this story was left for dead on the side of a mountain when the hero finds her. He takes her in and makes sure she’s okay and together they try to find out what has really happened her, with all the consequences it brings. Another Star_rating_3_of_5 for this one.

6. Once a year I try to reread the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. MaasThe previous years it was either when a new book released or when I just wanted to. As this year was the first year since 2015 that there was no new release in the series, I was just in the mood to. I just love this series and I think it might be one of my favourite fantasy series out there. I ended up giving the first book Star_rating_4_of_5 as I really dislike Tamlin and how ignorant he is to Feyre.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas7. Of course next up came A Court of Mist and Fury, also known as my absolute FAVOURITE in the series. I love how this book is written. How Feyre goes from being held captive in any sense of the way to breaking out of her shell and becoming the fierce High Lady that she was always meant to be. I can’t give this book enough stars, but Star_rating_5_of_5 will have to suffice for now!

8. A Court of Wings and Ruin is also on top of that list, but nothing will ever beat A A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. MaasCourt of Mist and Fury for me. I love the banter between characters, the love shared between Feyre and Rhysand, how badass Feyre is in her revenge against her former Court. Just about everything. The only thing I still don’t like happens at the end, which of course I will not spoil for anyone who hasn’t read this book. Then again, why haven’t you? Star_rating_5_of_5 all around!

A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas9. The last “book” in the series for now is the novella A Court of Frost and Starlight which I adore. I loved coming back to my favourite characters, to finding out what happened next. The banter between Nessa and Cassian and I can’t WAIT to find out what is next in store for them! Star_rating_5_of_5 once again.

10. Boyfriend Bargain by Ilsa Madden-Mills was my first ARC of the Boyfriend Bargain by Ilsa Madden-Millsmonth of May, one that I loved reading. For some reason I’m kinda digging books with tropes like these more and more. I finished the book way too quickly for my liking but I did love it so much! Boyfriend Bargain received Star_rating_4_of_5 from me!

Twist Me by Anna Zaires11. May seemed to be a month of rereading books that I loved in the past. I used my April Audible credit on the Twist Me trilogy by Anna Zaires. A series that I first read when I was in Spain back in 2016, then read as an ebook, now listened to. I loved the narrators of this series, they were spot on and I digged the whole scene that I was creating in my head. Twist Me kept it’s Star_rating_4_of_5 that it had gotten the last time.

12. The twelfth book that I read in May was the newest release by Samantha Young. That Things We Never Said by Samantha Youngbeing Things We Never Said. The book is part of the Hart’s Boardwalk series. The book can be read as a standalone but it does feature characters from the previous two books. I absolutely love the series and this one was no exception. It was cute, it was mysterious and I can’t wait to find out if there will be more to this series after this. A solid Star_rating_5_of_5 from me.

Ronja de roversdochter by Astrid Lindgren13. Next I picked up one of my childhood favourites, Ronia the Robber’s Daughter by Astrid Lindgren. She also wrote the Pippi Longstocking book and Ronia was right up there with Pippi when I was smaller. As I said in an instagram post back when I was reading this, I might love the illustrations even more than I loved the story although both are incredible. I read the book in Dutch, as that’s how I remember it. While I do love reading the original book, I still can’t read Swedish!Star_rating_3_of_5

14. Christina Lauren have been two of my absolute favourite romance authors for years The Unhoneymooners by Christina Laurennow, their books are always instareads for me. The Unhoneymooners was no exception to that. The story between two enemies growing to a romance is still one of my favourite tropes. This book was so cute, the cover was so tropical and that made me feel like wanting to go to an island in the ocean somewhere. “Sadly” enough I was only heading to Edinburgh after I finished this book haha. Just kidding I loved being in Scotland, this book just helped me dream some tropical dreams. I gave it Star_rating_4_of_5.

Keep Me by Anna Zaires15. Whilst travelling to Scotland I decided to listen to an audiobook, as I hate reading on the train and I didn’t want to get myself sick whilst on my first visit to the city. I ended up listening to the second book in the Twist Me trilogy by Anna Zaires, that being Keep Me. I loved continuing on with Nora and Julian’s story. It was hot (literally), sexy and I LOVED it even more the second time around. A solid Star_rating_4_of_5 from me.

16. In October of 2018 I first picked up a book by Mariana Zapata, one that I kept seeing Kulti by Mariana Zapataon one of my favourite bookstagram accounts. That being From Lukov with Love. Since then I have slowly been making my way through her books until I only had three left to go; Kulti, Under Locke and Wait for It. Because I kept seeing all kinds of mentions to Kulti on her facebook group, I decided to go for that one first. Kulti was INCREDIBLE. I love slowburn romances, the tension, the aggravation and the ultimate release of feelings are so much better in my opinion that books with instalove. Kulti was no exception, it had the slowburn, it had the agegap that I love reading about and ultimately it so much more. Mariana will never receive less than Star_rating_5_of_5 from me.

Hold Me by Anna Zaires17. Whilst going around Edinburgh, what better thing to do then listen to an audiobook. I have seriously listened to more audiobooks in the week I was there than in the three months before that and I love it. The last book in the Twist Me trilogy was next, Hold Me. Hold me is the conclusion to the trilogy and ultimately tells what happens to Nora and Julian and their slightly forbidden romance that has happened in the course of the three books. I loved this, I do see myself reading it again one day. For now it got Star_rating_4_of_5.

18. If you know me, then you know I hate being late to things. I would rather be half an The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkienhour early than 1 minute too late. When I had to get to the airport to fly back home, the weather was horrendous, and whilst I had the morning to spend in the city still, I decided to go to the airport and just wait there until my flight. I decided to start listening to The Hobbit a book that I have had on my shelves for literally years but yet had never read. The narrator had such a nice voice to listen to and I ended up finishing the book as well before I even got home. Star_rating_4_of_5 brilliant stars from me.

Fighting For You by Layla Hagen19. The last book that I read in May was another ARC. I am lucky enough to be on the VIP list for Layla Hagen’s books and I was SO happy to receive Fighting For You in my email. Fighting for You was the book that I was looking forward to the most in the Connor Family series. Jace and Brooke were incredible. Now that’s all I’m going to say about it, seeing the review went up yesterday on this book! Go read it, for now it got Star_rating_5_of_5 from me!

And that’s it. That’s all 19 books that I’ve read in May. Now you will be able to look forward to my June wrap up coming in the first week of July and hopefully at least one more post in the mean time, but knowing me there will be no guarantee haha. For now, I bit you farewell!
